MORNINGS AT SAMBOAN

Just this week, I was given the chance to drop a visit to this small town in the southern tip of Cebu. Though it was more of a company visit, but I took time to leisure myself with the sceneries which the place has offered.  We stayed near the beachfront, thereby giving me the moment to capture these images at the break of dawn.

I woke up very early and positioned myself before the sun scattered its rays in the horizon.  Witness this beauty as it happened before my mobile eye.

Cagayan de Oro City.

They called it the northern gateway to Mindanao. It is not actually an escapade on my own but a trip down here in the South due to the call of my work. Hope I can find the luxury to have my own escape into the city, but due to this work-related activity, I don't know if I can find one. But I'm still crossing my fingers. 

I will just share here what I witnessed this morning as I popped out of my window in the place where we were assigned to stay... ....the splendor of the morning sun burstling with life.

 

CELESTIAL GARDENS

                  ON THE HILLS OF BANAWA

Sunday afternoon.  

I tried exploring the hills of Banawa, Cebu City as this is the home of Celestial Gardens, a private cemetery and the popular Stations of the Cross where people flocked during the Lenten season.  Out of my curiosity, I decided to drop a visit to find for myself what this place is all about.

 

It was an hour before sundown that I was not having that much time to totally explore the area.  Besides, I was engrossed by the sculpture of the horseman where I spent most of my time in there taking most of the shoots.

And the sun gave its warning sign. It has to set on one of those hills.

It left me no choice but to bid my goodbye to the area. One last final look at the Cebu skyline from atop one of these hills.  

And there I go...I just found for myself a nice place just right for my solitude.. a haven to ponder on things you just can't have in that crowded place below.

My wanderings took me again to Cebu's famous historical park, the PLAZA de INDEPENDENCIA in downtown area, which has been re-opened to the public just lately.  It was indeed a far cry to what I used to visualize of the old park years back.

It was truly a new environment, cool and shady and a sight to behold for relaxation and recreation.

And it should be.
Afterall, the city government has spent millions in its renovation and beautification. Job well done.
